Kristallturm® High Ropes COurse In OLYMPIc Park Munich

CLIMBING BETWEEEN OLYMPIC STADIUM & OLYMPIC TOWER

It’s one of Munich’s most iconic locations: on one side the Olympic Tower, on the other the Olympic Stadium. Right in the middle stands a brand-new KristallTurm® High Ropes Course. Within just a few days, the KristallTurm® team assembled the 22-meter-high tower in the heart of the Olympic Park. It will be operated by SAYAQ Adventures München GmbH & Co. KG, adding another highlight to their existing attractions in the park. The SAYAQ Adventure Tower will open for climbing on Saturday, April 18.

At around 22 meters high, it’s the new eye-catcher in Munich’s Olympic Park: a KristallTurm® KT-7 high ropes course. A panoramic view over the entire park, however, is reserved for climbers. From the top of the tower’s three levels, you can look directly over the Olympic Stadium on one side and the Olympic Lake and TV Tower on the other. A total of 36 varied climbing elements await visitors. With different levels of difficulty, there’s something for everyone – from beginners to experienced climbers. For an extra adrenaline rush, the rappel station on the second level lets guests step out into the void from a height of 18 meters before being safely lowered to the ground by an automatic belay system.

At the end of April, the tower will be complemented by an observation platform – the perfect spot to take a breather while climbing or to enjoy a bird’s-eye view of the action and events in the Olympic Park.

CUSTOM CONSTRUCTION FOR SLOPING TERRAIN

Thanks to its modular system, KristallTurm® High Ropes Courses can be adapted to almost any environment. In the Olympic Park, the tower was built on a slope. To compensate for the difference in height, longer steel poles than usual were used in some areas. The longest measures around 25 meters – about 8 meters longer than the standard length.

HOME ADVANTAGE FOR KRISTALLTURM®

“As a company based in Lenggries, we’re especially delighted to have been able to realize a project practically on our doorstep – and in such a unique location in Munich’s Olympic Park!”

Michael Haller, Geschäftsführer von KristallTurm®

As the Olympic Stadium will undergo renovation in the coming years – meaning attractions such as the Flying Fox and the stadium roof tour will be temporarily suspended – the high ropes course now offers a new, unique experience at height, just in time for the start of summer. KristallTurm® wishes you lots of fun climbing!
