In 2024, the ice sports era of the Olympic Ice Stadium and its training hall came to an end. But the sporting spirit continues. In 2025, the transformation into one of Europe’s largest action sports centers began. KristallTurm^® contributed three major athletic highlights: a calisthenics area, a parkour zone, and a Ninja Warrior course.

For decades, the Olympic Ice Stadium in Munich was home to table tennis world championships, boxing events, basketball games, and the home arena of Munich’s top ice hockey clubs – a venue where sports history was written. When EHC Red Bull moved to the SAP Garden in 2024, an era came to an end.

OLYMPIC ICE SPORTS CENTER: TIME & SPACE FOR SOMETHING NEW

In 2025, the starting signal was given for a sporting transformation: the former ice sports center, including its training hall, was to be converted into one of Europe’s largest action sports hubs, uniting a wide range of disciplines under one roof across a total of 4,000 m² of indoor space.

KristallTurm^® was entrusted with a key role and designed three major areas inside the training hall: a modern calisthenics setup, a parkour zone, and a Ninja Warrior area. A large bouldering section, a kids’ area, and a bistro complete the facility. In December 2025, the training hall opened its doors to the first athletes.

We are proud to have contributed to turning a piece of Munich’s sports history into a vibrant meeting point for movement, training, and urban lifestyle.

The second hall, the former ice stadium, is expected to be completed during 2026. Here too, movement and action will take center stage. Sports enthusiasts can look forward to a skateboard bowl and halfpipe, dirt bike BMX and jumpline areas, mountain biking, 3×3 basketball, and much more.

KRISTALLTURM^® AREAS IN MUNICH ACTION PARK

CALISTHENICS

A steel structure featuring a variety of fitness elements: parallel bars, stall bars, pull-up bars at different heights, monkey bars, and more – everything needed for effective full-body training using your own bodyweight.

NINJA Warrior Area

A large Ninja Warrior area featuring a variety of obstacles suitable for all fitness levels

PARKOUR

A recreation of an urban street parkour environment built entirely from wood – inspired by typical city spots but specifically designed for safe indoor training. Varied shapes and structures enable versatile practice for parkour, freerunning, and playful movement. Instead of concrete, steel, or asphalt, all elements are made from durable wooden volumes. Safety mats covering the entire area cushion jumps and falls.
