CLIMBING Adventure On the roof of the world <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Whether in the port of Shanghai, at the mountain station of a Swiss ski resort, or on the deck of an AIDA cruise ship \u2013 KristallTurm\u00ae<\/sup> high ropes courses can be found in some truly exceptional locations. In Autumn 2025, another one was added: the city of Shannan in Tibet, at an altitude of 3,600 meters.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>

When we think of Tibet, we picture Buddhist monasteries and temples, breathtaking landscapes and culture, and the highest mountains in the world. Much of the region lies above 4,000 meters, which is why it\u2019s often referred to as the \u201cRoof of the World.\u201d It is precisely here \u2013 in the city of Shannan in southern Tibet \u2013 that a new KristallTurm\u00ae<\/sup> high ropes course has stood since autumn 2025, about 3,600 meters above sea level. This makes it the highest KristallTurm\u00ae<\/sup> installation in the world to date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, the unusual altitude also presented a challenge for our installation team. The lower oxygen levels in the air made physical work noticeably more difficult, requiring more breaks and a slower pace. All the greater was the satisfaction when, after about four weeks of installation, the climbing structure from Lenggries could finally open at its new home.<\/p>\n\n\n

<\/path><\/svg><\/span>COLORFUL CLIMBING ADVENTURE IN TIBET <\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Standing around 20 meters tall, the high ropes course is an eye-catching landmark. The brightly painted poles contribute to its vibrant appearance and reflect the colors of the Tibetan flag. Up to 75 people can climb in the structure at the same time. A giant swing and an abseiling station add an extra dose of excitement. Spanning the entire area is an event platform \u2013 the perfect spot for a climbing break or future gatherings. Below the first level, a kids\u00b4 course with 13 additional elements invites children under 8 to enjoy their first climbing experiences, either alone or accompanied by an adult.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another highlight awaits at the very top: visitors will find an old VW Beetle that has been turned into a climbing element. It was restored and freshly painted in the KristallTurm\u00ae<\/sup> workshops before making the long journey to Tibet.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n\n
